Michael Boley was born on March 21, 1796 in Prussia (Saarland, German) and died March 3, 1864 in Ohio. Barbara Hartz was born February 12, 1801 in Prussia (Boos, Germany--Trier, Rhine) and died March 3, 1864 in Ohio.

Michael Boley and Barbara Hartz were married in Germany (no record of date or place). They immigrated to the United States from the Kingdom of Prussia, county of Trier, district of Saarlos, city of Hush on April 21, 1836. They left from Caville, France and reached Cassella, Mercer County, Ohio on August 3, 1836, a voyage of over 3 1/2 months. Their three children accompanied them.

Anna Boley, born June 3, 1821. Died January 14, 1843. She was the first person buried in the Cassella, Ohio cemetery. Nicholaus Boley, born December 25, 1825. Some records show he was killed in the Mexican War in 1848. Others say it is believed he left and didn't want to be found. Anna Josephine Boley, born April 24, 1844 and died May 13, 1887. She died at the birth of a son Peter. Anna Josephne married Christopher Ranly on October 22, 1860. They were parents of 7 children (I have their names).

1.Charles Taylor BOLEY, born in 1873; died in 1949. +Viva Grace WEIGHTMAN. May have married in Elgin, IL. He moved to Washington DC around 1910 to be near his family in Manassas, VA.

1. Spotswood Alexander BOLEY, b. 1840 in Bedford County, Virginia (right outside of Lynchburg). I do not yet have a date for his death, but he died in Richmond. Spotswood married Annie Elizabeth WATSON, b. 1851 in Amhurst Co., VA., in 1870. She died June 11, 1893.
