Pvt CL PNSR
Defined: Pressley Mountford Boley born December 15, 1766 in Virginia; died May 20, 1838 in Virginia married Polly A. (unknown last name) and he was a Private in the Continental Line and received a pension for his services.
NOTE from Ray: Note that the middle initial of Polly is shown as an "A" whereby other references show it
as a "W." Since subject indexes are fairly new I give them much more value than those previously published by the DAR.
Pressley Boley's second wife, Polly, is listed with John Boley [their son] in the 1850 Bedford Co. census. She apparently died in about 1859. For some reason or another Pressley Boley's estate was probated in Bedford Co. in 1859 after Polly apparently died. John J. Boley and Richard R. Overstreet [a son-in-law] were administrators of Pressley Boley's estate. I have not found any other info on the estate.
Pressley Boley Sr. applied for a pension November 26.1821 at which time he was said to be 61 years old. This indicates that he was born in 1760. The pension records indicate that he died in 1838. Polly, his second wife, died in about 1859.
The available evidence indicates that the Pressley born in 1799 was a son of John Boley and Rebecca Rector. At the time of the 1850 census they were living in the same general area.
The Pressley Boley who was the great grand father of my wife was born in 1803/4 and died in 1888. He arrived in Tn. sometime in the 1830's and died in Tn in 1888.
