EZEKIAL SUDBERRY lived in Henrico County, Virginia, in 1733; died in Chesterfield County, Virginia in 1747. He had five sons: Ezekial Jr., David, William, Simon W., and John.
Oct. 1725; Ezekiel Sudbury wit. will of Morris Roberts, Henrico Co.
This is what I think is interesting, and possibly a different family for Patience, wife of Ezekiel:
Henrico Co. wills and Deeds:
Will of Patience Turner: To Ezekiel Sudbury, items and to granddaughter,
Martha, items. 1 sh. each to Abel Turner, Jacob Turner, Mary Turner,
Elizabeth Man, Ami Ragsdale. To daughter Patience, my wearing cloths.
Ezekiel Sudbury to be executor. 13 June, 1730. Witness: Benj. Horner,
Peter Verneir Rc. May, 1733.
15 Nov 1736: John Clark to Robert Thompson of Henrico Co. Consid: 10 pounds. Witness: Ezekill Sulbury, John Farley, John Ward; 200A West Creek of Deep Creek. Possession obtained by Robert Thompson in presence of Ezekill Sulbury, plus other two on 15 Nov 1736. Deed acknow. by John Clark, proved by oats of (the three), rec. at court 10 Dec. 1736. (This is a very early presence in Amelia Co. by Ezekiel?)
16 Nov., 1736, John clark (also Clerke) to William Clark, same three
witnesses, possession in presence of same three, proved by oaths of same
three, rec. 10 Dec., 1736.
This will was obtained by VA from NC Archives and recorded in Henrico Co.
records:

for my daughter Jane. After wife's death estate to be divided equally
among five daughters. Wife Patience to be executrix. 17 january, 1712/13.
Abel Turner's will rec. Jan., 1734/5. 200 A. to daugher Lucy Parker.
John Jackson settlement, est. valued in May, 1713, presented by Mary
Ralph Jackson, 1709, sons and wife unnamed, daughter Elizabeth Perkinson
1711 - estate valued, presented by Leah (prob. wife)
I wonder if Patience was really a Turner, daughter of Henry and Patience
Turner, with Ezekiel acting as his mother-in-law's executor???
I see no other connection of Patience to Jackson's, other than as a
co-witness on the deed.
The 1747 will was apparently a 'dry run' illness. He had outlived his
first wife Patience, apparently, and went on to marry an Ann, after
recovering from the illness that made him write out the will giving
everything to his son, Ezekiel, Jr. Ten years later, he really was fatally
ill, but apparently had no time to WRITE another will, so he gave a verbal
one to his neighbors, I gather, which was sworn to in court. His wife,
Ann, was his executor. The orphans for which the churchwardens were
responsible were his minor children: I'm not sure why Ann was not
responsible but I assume it had something to do with the bad-old-days laws
which did not recognize women as legal entities, or perhaps she refused to
care for the children of his first marriage after he was gone! At any
rate, the lack of Ezekiel, Jr.'s name means to me that he was legally
mature, whereas the other four were either under 18 or 21, I can never keep
track of what a 'minor' entailed.

1.4. PATSIE SUTBERRY, m. Abijah Horner, 11-4-1789, in Chesterfield Co., VA.
MARTHA SUDBERRY married William Bigbie 5-17-1793, Powhatan Co., VA.
As Powhatan is right next to Chesterfield Co, I am guessing this Martha is
a daughter of either David or Ezekiel, Jr???
2. DAVID SUDBERRY lived in Powatan County, Virginia in 1790-1800.

3. WILLIAM SUDBERRY lived in Amelia County, Virginia. He married Frances Dunnivant in 1784.
The marriage book also records: William Sudberry to Frances Dunnavant, 29
July, 1784, she "writes her own consent". (We've cut and pasted our way
out of the source of this marriage record - I'll look it up, but it's VA,
probably Amelia County. (Jane)

Rebecca Bradshaw, 1st wife of William Crispin, merchant of London died beyond seas en route to PA, buried in chancel of a church in Carrickfergus, Ireland; letters of admin. granted 7 Jul 1682 in Ireland to John Suxberry and John Watts. Crispin was to have been chief justice of PA. (Threw this one in because it was interesting. Ezekiel Sudsbury witnessed will of John Crisp in 1782, in Chesterfield Co., VA.)
Think this one is from England - from Wills Relating to Early VA Families:
AWDRYE HACON
Norwich C.C.126 Bourne Nuncupative
22 Oct 1603 Proved: 27 July (no year given, but filed under 1606)
Awdrye HACON Of Surlingham, Norfolk, singlewoman. To Elizabeth her mother, now the wife of John SUDBURY of Brecydeston (?) £10, from testator's father's will (Alexander HACON of Surlingham), Witnesses: Thomas JORDAN and Anne his wife, Robert HARDWYN, John SPURGEN and James HACON.
In looking through marriage and deed books, I could find no official record
of John's marriage to Sally. Nor could I find any record for John (son)
marriage to Martha Vaden, although I did find the abstract of her
grandfather's will, George Hunt Moore, naming his granddaughter as the
daughter of Lodwick Vaden and his daughter, Martha, "already deceased".
There were many marriages for Tabb family members - this was obviously a
big planter family. Thomas Y (Yelverton, I assume) married Marianna
Archer, 9 Setpember 1834; william Tabb to Calpurnia Featherston 2 Dec.,
1822; Edward Tabb to jean Clements 22 Dec, 1763; John Tabb to Mary Mallory
of Nottoway Parish, 1 October, 1765; John Tabb to Nancy Anderson, daughter
of Elizabeth Anderson, 15 Dec., 1784; Thomas Tabb to Rebecca Booker, 27
Sept., 1735; Thomas Tabb to Mary Bolling, 18 Oct. 1814. No marriages
recorded between Sudbury's and Tabb's.
The Jones Family Bible has a slew of Tabbs, including the birth of John
Yelverton Tabb, b. 1785. In 1842, family of Thomas Yelverton Tabb is listed among patients of Dr. S. Ford
will of George Hunt Moore of Dale Parish; 5 shillings each to daughters:
Lucy Nunnerly, elizabeth Cousins (wife of John), susannah Mann, Verlinche
Vaden, wife of Daniel Vaden, Mary Vaden, already dec'd, and once wife of
Lodwick Vaden.
To granddaughter Martha Vaden (underage) dau. of Lodwick Vaden, item - not
listed. Lend to wife Frances, rest of estate for widowhood then equally
divided between sons Matthew, Daniel, Eleazar, and Drury. 1 October, 1783.
Oct. 1725; Ezekiel Sudbury wit. will of Morris Roberts, Henrico Co.
This is what I think is interesting, and possibly a different family for
Patience, wife of Ezekiel:
Henrico Co. wills and Deeds:
Will of Patience Turner: To Ezekiel Sudbury, items and to granddaughter,
Martha, items. 1 sh. each to Abel Turner, Jacob Turner, Mary Turner,
Elizabeth Man, Ami Ragsdale. To daughter Patience, my wearing cloths.
Ezekiel Sudbury to be executor. 13 June, 1730. Witness: Benj. Horner,
Peter Verneir Rc. May, 1733.
This will was obtained by VA from NC Archives:and recorded in Henrico Co.

I wonder if Patience was really a Turner, daughter of Henry and Patience
Turner, with Ezekiel acting as his mother-in-law's executor???
I see no other connection of Patience to Jackson's, other than as a
co-witness on the deed.
There is no David Sedbury/Sedberry living in Wake County in 1830. He may
have been living somewhere west of Wake County, perhaps in Rockingham County?
Am not sure where he fits into the family tree. Do you know?
