Emily D. Bellamy, 61, of Paris, formerly of Blossom, died Sunday, Feb.11, 2001, at Paris Health Care Center.

Fry and Gibbs Funeral Home will conduct graveside services at 2 p.m.Thursday, Feb. 15, at Knights of Honor Cemetery in Blossom with the Rev.Neil Higginbotham officiating. The family will receive friends at thefuneral home from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home and will beat the home of Charlotte Burge, 1065 W. Division, Blossom, at other times.

Mrs. Bellamy was born July 21, 1939, in Paris to I.D. and Helen HoweEdmonson. She married Howard Bellamy in Paris. She was a nurse’s aide atParis Health Care Center and a member of First Baptist Church in Blossom.

Survivors include an aunt, Virginia Gage of Paris and numerous cousins.She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard; a daughter, LisaBellamy, and her parents. www.legacy.com

THE PARIS NEWS, Wed., Oct. 22, 1997, p. 1A: '(Picture) WOMAN DIES INEARLY MORNING FIRE - An early morning fire claimed the life of a Pariswoman when she tried to exit a door that had been nailed shut. LisaMichelle Bellamy was the only casualty in the blaze at 1014 Tudor shortlybefore 2 a.m. Fire marshal Rick Evans said five people were in the homeand an electric hot plate was being used for heat in a bedroom. He saidthe device either shorted or became too close to combustibles. 'A 15-yearold in the bedroom woke up and then proceeded to wake the rest of thehouse up,' Evans said. 'They went out the front door and Ms. Bellamytried to go out the back door.' Evans said there was evidence the backdoor had been nailed shut. Ms. Bellamy was found near the door and Evanssaid it appears she died of smoke inhalation. The 15 year-old malesuffered burns to his ears and the back of his neck, along with smokeinhalation and singed hair. At least one other person had their hairsinged.
