Joseph Samuel Bobo was born Jun.24,1878 in Bartow County, Ga.and died Jun.29,1957. He married on Oct.07,1901 to Florence McFadden who was born Mar.09,1877 in Maury County, Tenn. She was the
daughter of James Berry McFadden and Mary Ann Moses. Sam and
Florence Bobo had 5 children. In 1906 they moved to New Mexico to
homestead property at St. Vrain about 25 miles northwest of Clovis.
After several years of living in a "dugout" (which Sam had dug), he
built a four room adobe house. During the twenty years or so that
the Sam Bobo family lived there, Sam earned a living by hauling and
selling fence post which he made from trees he had cut down at San
Jon, selling produce he had raised on the farm, digging other
dougouts, and odd jobs. He also learned broom making from a blind
man, bought equipment, began raising his own corn and making
brooms. He was known as "The Broom Man". 1. Daisy May Bobo was born Jul.31,1902 and died Apr.12, 1956. She
never married. 2. Clyde Bobo was born in 1905 and died in 1905. 3. Albert C. Bobo was born Jun.10,1909 and died Nov.14,1979. He
married on Dec.25,1930 to Gwendolyn Aileen Traughbor who was born
Aug.18,1911. They had 2 children. a. Wynema Jeanett Bobo. She married on
Jun.20,1953 to Joe M. Davidson b. Gaylon Lynn Bobo. 4. Oscar C. Bobo was born Dec.10,1910. He married on Mar. 01,1931
