'Hugh Burton (Jelly) Golden, 81,Cherry Street Annex, died there Sunday, July 3, at 5:45 p.m. Serviceswere held at Restland Cemetery in Roxton at 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 5, withthe Rev. Burgie Thompson officiating. Fry and Gibbs Funeral Home hadcharge of arrangements. Mr. Golden was born Oct. 7, 1906, in Atlas, a sonof Joe and Alice Shannon Golden. He attended Atlas schools and marriedMildred Hogan on Oct. 30, 1930. She died Jan. 21, 1979. He was a memberof the First Baptist Church in Roxton. Surviving are a daughter, LelaYoung of Paris; two sons, Charles U. Golden of Paris and Thomas H. Goldenof Roxton; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.'
