He passed awayMarch 24, 2000. Preceded in death by two sons, Joe Ben, Jr. and William(Rusty). Larry Shannon left school at a early age due to a young marriage. Hewent into numerous years of sales in the Automobile and the RecreationalVehicle Industry. Winning many awards and trips also Caribbean cruises.Later he decided to go into business for himself in the Invention,Marketing and Sales of his own inventions ie, Home Security Systems,including his own production of Television Commercials and Advertisementof same having them aired on the Johnny Carson Show. Larry was highlysuccessful for a short period due to his merger with a financial backernamed Lee Sheer who
was a compulsive gambler of which Larry was not aware of at the time thatthe partnership was formed thus the end of "Detectron International" ofwhich Larry was President and Founder. After a year in Hawaii, Larry cameback and was recruited by a group of businessmen to accept a position asExecutive Vice President of 1st International Coin and Currency (a goldand silver exchange, mint and refinery)
When the precious metals industry hit a low and failed to fluctuate for aprolonged period, 1st International C & C was temporarily put on hold,And was awaiting the resurrection of the profitable fluctuation of theGold and Silver industry. Larry was self employed in buying, selling and
trading of various merchandise around the world.
Larry died after his unexpected heart surgery at the very young age of 57just one day before his 58th birthday. His untimely parting has left sucha void in my life, the things I miss most of all are his laugh, hissmile, his morning call, his goodnight wish for "Sweet Dreams" and hiswarm and loving hugs.
He was a very special little brother, He was my friend, my pal, my"Little Brother" there will never be another.
