The pictures on
this first page are my
growing collection of treasures. Some are ones that I didn't know
existed until recently, some I had never seen, others I have had
and already considered a cherished keepsake and then some are
new.
Hope you enjoy
viewing
them as much as I have. Several will open to a new page and
larger
view by clicking on the pictures.

Alva Lee Taylor and
Arizona A. Mitchell
Taylor, my Granddaddy and Granny Taylor. I'm told this was their
wedding portrait. |
This picture of the
Taylor Family
was taken in 1911. We found it at Paulette's home. Aunt
Pearl
had it and Paulette and Betty Joyce were kind enough to have us all
copies
of it printed. I treasure it, for Beulah Lee, the little
angel
leaning on her fathers knee, so far as we know, this is the only
picture
of her that we have. She died 31 Oct 1913. Clara Bell,
standing
in the back center died at the age of 17 in 1917. Maudie Emma, my
mother, is the little girl in the middle. Ruby Opal, is setting
in
front of Maudie. Goldman C., the baby is on Granny's
lap.
He was born 3 Oct 1910, and this is how we date the picture. It
is
really a treasure. |
Clara Belle Taylor,
seen in the
above picture at eleven years of age. The back of this one says
it
was taken in 1915 and she was 15 years old. A treasure as there
are
few known pictures of Clara since she passed away at such a young age. |
The Taylor family
siblings picture
was taken in 1925 when they lived in Oklahoma for a year. It must
have been taken before Goldie was born. She is the only one
missing
from the picture other than the three that were already deceased by
this
time. Isn't it neat? Reading left to right - Sam, Pearl,
Goldman,
Maudie, Ruby, McLee, Lawrence. Aunt Eunice is standing in front
of
Pearl. My cousin Connie got this pic somewhere and had me a copy
made. Maudie is my sweet mother and Connie's is Ruby. |
Ruby Taylor, unknown
young lady
and Maudie Taylor made in 1925. Mother was born in 1907 and would
have been around 18 in this picture. |
Goldie Geneva Taylor
and Eunice
Aline Taylor. They are sitting on the front porch of their home
on
"Rock Hill" in Lamar County, Texas. The youngest two children of
Alva Lee and Arizona Taylor |
This picture of Granny
and Granddaddy
was in my Mother's photo album and not dated. I believe it was
taken
before they left the old Maxey Army Camp. |
Ruby Opal Taylor
Hodges and her
daughter, Connie Lou. We lost Aunt Ruby on 1 May 1940 due to an
infection
from an extracted tooth. When she died she left Connie, Joe
Bailey,
Jimmie Dale and her husband, J. G., to grieve as well as her extended
family.
Connie Lou grew into a wonderful person, married Dean Ball and raised
five
lovely daughters. The picture is a treasure to all of us. |
Duane's parents,
Thomas Jefferson
Tallant and Ollie Lula Huggins were married on 14 October 1903 at
Welch,
Montgomery County, Arkansas. This is said to be their wedding
picture. |
The Tallant Family
about 1910/11.
Chester Vernon, the baby, was born 2 May 1909. I would guess the
picture was made sometime in 1910. Standing is Dona Tallant and Eunice
Huggins. Sitting is Lula Huggins Tallant and Thomas Jefferson
Tallant.
The children, left to right are Chester Vernon, Riley Burton and Hettie
Mae. Fredona Bell (Dona) later married Ernest Lashlle and Eunice
Elizabeth married Arthur E. Asmus |
